People who take and hold the ATM receipt paper with naked hands, without gloves, have increased levels of BPA (Bisphenol A) in their urine, compared to people who don`t take the receipt at all or they hold it with gloves.

BPA has been tested numerous times, showing a connection with certain hormonal conditions. Some of the issues are linked to the mental health of young children.

This compound can be found in some fabrics, hard plastics (like the ones used to making jigs for children) or canned foods.

Recently it was discovered that BPA is also used for making ATM paper, utilized by POS-machines, which are part of parkways, business sectors or other public places. This means that lots of people come in contact with this substance, because almost no one is using gloves when they hold the paper.

The BPA compound finds its way in the urine shortly after the contact with it. This fact is especially important for people who work with this paper, because it can cause all sorts of health conditions, from reduces sperm count, breast or testicular cancer, obesity, weakened immune system, to diabetes and enlargement of reproductive glands.
